Mom is from Vietnam, as you may recall, and similarly she learned the same word for blue and green, with modifiers that translate as “blue/green like a leaf” and “blue/green like the sky.”

I was really interested to know how the translation of blue/green would go. This is a super cool read, thanks for sharing! I've been studying Japanese and I love looking at traditional Japanese painting techniques, so seeing the overlap with your book is really fascinating to me :D
