How delightful. Your maturity and thoughtfulness are just remarkable. We all have that dark side, but it is amazing to see how new life can often re-direct our energies.

I used to love science fiction, but also turned away from most of it for the same reasons. The universe is a beautiful place, and not all about conquering and killing. These Webb telescope images are what life is really all about.

It almost looks as if this monster has a bright side, and that manifested with Bix. Bix is my favorite Dinotopia character, a sensible gal with heart.

Thank you for sharing a facet of your Dinotopia origin story which hasn’t been known before. Once tiring of illustrating others’ dystopian worlds, you have created a uniquely beautiful one which many find satisfying to explore.

Science Fiction and Fantasy always will have stories with conflict, bloody and ideological. But both also offer a venue for thinking, "What if?" What if that barbaric orc cares as much for her people as you do yours? What happens when you and that big repulsive bug (who thinks you're pretty disgusting looking too) realize you two aren't enemies, something else is much worse and if you don't figure out how to work together you'll all die?

Those stories are always there, and more are being written as people happen to find the old ones and think, "I want more of this". Some authors I loved as a teen actively disgust me, some merely annoy me as being rather trite. This is as it should be, our viewpoints and tastes should change as we mature.
