I Called a Meeting of the Owls
Last night's conversation in the night forest
Last night, April 30th, I called a meeting of the owls.
It started spontaneously. When I was taking out the compost I heard the far-off call of a barred owl.
I hailed him in a high falsetto: “What's up, you nut?! What's up with you-u-u-u-u-u-u?” That's the way owls talk to each other.
