Can You Mix Gouache and watercolor?
One is opaque and the other is transparent, right?
Yes you can mix them!
You’ll notice that I often use gouache and watercolor on the same palette. Gouache and watercolor have slightly different formulations, but they’re totally compatible with each other. Gouache uses the same binding agent as transparent watercolor, namely gum arabic, which is water-soluble and will reactivate when it gets wet.
